• • • • One of the most important func- tions of the modern college is to develop the social instincts in the students during the plastic years of youth. Spontaneous and enthusiastic participation in the fraternities and sororities on the Hill make this one of the college's most pleasant tasks. Tilese organizations provide social contacts, encourage scholarship, and promote athletic competition not otllerwise available.
