One of the students of Western Maryland College
who served the Country during the War
Honored Friend:
The Board of Trustees of Western Maryland College sends
you this leiter that you ma:y know that your College appreciates
the service you have rendered :your country in its hour of peril
and the honor you have brought to your College b:y this service.
As far as IDe have been able to gather the information, it
appears that one hundred and seventy former students entered this
service. The College displays its service flag with a star for each
one. It has also placed the names of these men on a roll of honor.
The Board of Trustees at its meeting held June 10th, 1919,
made record of its appreciation in the minutes of its proceedings, and
this letter, signed by the president and secretary of the Board, is
sent by its order IDiththe hope that :you will be assured that none can
have greater pride in you or feel more honored by the honor that
has come to :you than those who have had the privilege of working
with :you and for :you in :your education.
May you continue to advance in honor and in usefulness,
cherishing the noble ideals IDhich moved you to this service.
Secretary. President.
