WORDS FOR WORDLESSNESS
BY KAILEY RHONE
I have no poetry, there are plastic flowers in a vase;
Artificial loveliness: no fragrance and no bloom.
No verses bless my lips, there are book ends on an empty shelf.
What rests within those walls but dust and ghosts?
Like a fraud, I am a writer with no means to write.
The paper is bone white, and the curtains have been drawn.
I have no poetry, a bird with broken wings, singing a silent song.
