Memory Lane
Gwen Chandler
Painted flowers on the bodies of friends,
They run barefoot over the untouched lands.
Casting broken dreams down by the river bends,
They live like the city, where life never ends.
The memories fade fast,
Laid silent in the grass
The sun on the horizon,
By my love as she cries on.
Over thinking.
Over drinking.
The fear of tomorrow,
Is succumbing.
And the sinking
Feeling makes me
Wonder where my
Life will take me.
Further drifting,
Mind is blurring.
All emotions
Now are stirring.
