Andrea Hooker

   HALF POSITION

I know how you crave my hour glass body,
Slicked in black paint, adorned with a silver panel.
   I sit in your room,
Surrounded by white walls, covered with posters
Waiting for you to come home,
As dust dances upon my four strings.
My frets left with your fingerprints-
   Strings once plucked so fast-
Your hand, "my little spider," creeps up my neck.

Umm faster umm faster umm fast ... urn deep
Sounds rattled the ground, glass vibrating
All over the house, as you take me
To another place. Tasting the sweat
   Of your fingertips-
   Hands

Please don't stop-but your song was over
Now I'm here- missing your hazel eyes
The way they glistened when you
   Caressed my body.

A door creaks, it must be you!

Sunlight creeps into the room as you hold me in your arms
Gently placing my strap around your body-
   Fingers in half position ...
