Simple Paradise
What do I see in myself?
In my hands I see strength and elegance.
In my eyes I see truth.
In your eyes I see the sky and the ocean.
In your eyes I see myself.
Your hands show your many lives in their lines,
Crossing and intersecting like roads-
Roads to all the souls you have ever known.
Which road am I?
The one less traveled or the road home?
You remind me of a summer day,
When the rain has stopped, and the drops are sparkling
gently on the petals of a rose.
So soft, so subtle, so simply beautiful.
I feel as thought I am floating in a pool of delicate
lapping water.
You lick at my toes and swirl 'round my ears.
You bring with you the haze, the sweet familiar mist
that causes a dreamy oblivion within.
Why are you so smoky?
Maybe it's my eyes that are clouded-
Desire so thick it blinds me.
My mind is all shadowy spaces and twisted corners,
Like a maze with no center and no end.
