When Autumn Changes To Winter

I'm going out, to walk in the leaves,
putting on a coat, it's bitter cold.
Outside, the air blows through my hair,
shuddering, I can tell it's almost winter,
maybe it will even snow

and running freely, I head for the woods.

At a winding road, I can clearly see the woods,
my feet crunching on top of leaves,
soon, they'll all be covered by snow.
I pull my coat tighter, it feels even colder,
it's the end of autumn, and the start of winter,
making everything chilled, even my hair.

The trees are blowing from the breeze, just like my hair,

everything appears beautiful and everlasting in the woods,
leaves that once glowed, burn brown come winter,

the ground covered by a thin sheet of leaves

the air changing from warmth to biting cold
slowly sprinkling flakes of snow.

With a finger, I scrawl pictures in the snow,
spraying it all over, landing in my hair,
I'm getting damp and very cold
passing through the woods,

my feet no longer able to frolic through leaves,
animals prepare to hibernate for the winter,

gathering food to store, for winter

freezes everything underneath the snow __ .

blanketing trees, flowers and leaves, even forming a mold over my half,

as nature rests in the woods,

keeping snug, away from the cold.

Feet numb, teeth chattering, it's too cold
to be outside long in the winter,

and with the sun setting beyond the woods,
silence everywhere it seems, harder comes the snow,
weighing down my hair,

as I say good-bye to the once golden leaves.
