ATLANTIC CITY, 1975
Night falls swiftly
On a tainted city
Ocean erosion sweeping
Respectability away.
Neon lights flash
Claiming to fulfill all needs
While painted girls
Walk trash laden streets
And offer more
Than they can give
And that minority--
The family--rushes in
Through dimly lit hotel doors
Trading one darkness
For another
And the children
Pray for a light
That isn't neon red.
