Sunset Seagull Poetaster
glide gull it's lonely living in the shadow of greatness
for the sunset sings never achieving, never failing
in these island rocks a glorious poetaster
its benediction at night dreaming about
lUllaby love and masterful epics
& the waves
are orange flutes the morning finds my verse empty
& the flowers gone are the rolling powerful lines
tympani in silent rage, I flee the significant
to Your arched flight playing games in hazy meaningless purple
OVerthis cliff
you soar see! see! the butterfly wing
free from the sea painted in colors Iwish Icould sing
enclosing its ring Ah!
around my bones Mr. pope, I broke the butterfly upon the wheel
fadi ng its autumn writing page after page of profound
colours nothingness
to the embers
of·It s dying song.
Go
island tern
don't be too long
for Your memory
grows cold at night
as shadows
close my eyes
to Your sight
on the water of oil
seagull fly _
but let not this song
within me diIe.
