The Carnival Game 9
Children crying Crowding faces
Parents spending Colors flashing
Many sweethearts Smell of hotdogs
Many sweethearts Gears gnashing
Old men vending
As day wears on
Ice cream dripping Crowds grow thin
On sticky hands Patience wanes
Stepped on gum It's hard to win.
And popcorn stands
-po valas
Crack! the whip
Merry, go round
Roller coaster
Giant slide down
The ferris wheel goes round and round
Never stop to touch the ground
As it turns, feelings release,
Escape
tension -
nervousness
peace.
Rides close down
Bright lights go out
Cars all lined up
Trash all about
Tomorrow's crowds
Will be the same
Ready to play
The carnival game.
