Football The 2001 Green Terror won their fifth straight Centen- nial Conference title, earning their fifth consecutive berth into the NCAA playoffs. The Terror was ousted in the first round by the third ranked team in the country, Washington & Jefferson. 17 of the WMC players were named to the All-Centennial Conference football team. Jamie Harris was named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Year for the second straight season, while Jason Wingeart was named the Conference's Defensive Player of the Year. Wingeart was also selected by the American Football Coaches Association to play in the Aztec Bowl. Teran Powell set new school marks for receptions (145), reception yards (2,514) and career touchdown receptions (35-also a conference record), while the team scored a school high 413 points.
