Jan Tenn Jan Term 01 -02 proved to be unlike any other. Many plans for traveling abroad were cancelled because of post 9/11 uncertainties. A few brave students and faculty found fish and fun in Belize for 2 weeks. For those who were not a part of the tropical expedition, winter break was passed by working, spending time with family and traveling. But word travels fast and by the time the students were preparing to return, it was old news; Western Maryland College day's were numbered. The college's name was changing and following the announcement was confusion, disbelief, and disagreement. Petitions were made, anti - petitions were drawn; the decision made by President Coley and the Board of Trustees stood firm. As students returned from Jan Term it was clear that WMC's final semester was to be savored. 16
