A Note From the Editor Another year has come and gone, and I would like to take this moment to reflect on this past year's events. The events of September 11,2001 will always be remembered. As students, faculty and staff, we will never forget where we were when those planes hit the World Trade Towers, the Pentagon and crashed in Pennsylvania. The amount of emotion felt throughout the world that day did not go unnoticed. It was amazing to witness how many countries mourned with us. As a student of Western Maryland College, it was wonderful and comforting for me to see our school and community pull together in a time of need. . Then in January, the announcement came that the Board of Trustees was planning to change the name of the school. A lot of time and energy was put forth by all that were involved. During an on-campus party on May II 'h, the new name was announced. As of July 1,2002, Western Maryland College will only exist in our hearts and minds. The new name for the institution is McDaniel College, home of the Green Terror. My deepest appreciation to all who have contributed to this book. A special thank you goes to Wes, Aimie, Ivy, Sarah, Crystal, and Amanda for all of their hard work and dedication. Without their help, this book would not have been possible. I would also like to extend my deepest thanks to our yearbook advisor, Susan Cullison, for all of her hard work, time, energy and dedication. She put in numerous after-work hours to help make this book a success. I wish the best ofluck to the class of2002. May you be successful in all you do. No mat- ter where life may lead you always remember that you are welcome on the Hill. As for those of you who still remain on the Hill until your graduation day, keep working hard and strive for suc- cess. And to all of the Western Maryland College community, remember that although this may be the last time we shout out "WMC" at the top of our lungs, it is still the same institution it has always been-dedicated to providing a nurturing learning environment for its students. Good luck to everyone and may you have a bright future. E1J.iJm' Melanie Pulley SJnjJ Wes Bedsworth Ivy Daniel Sarah Linthicum Amanda Lofton AimieSmith Crystal Turner A.driĀ£ill:. Susan Cullison
