The Westminster community warmly receives the college students The local restaurants and stores are commonly visited by WMC t Reaching New students and staff Heights On The Mill WMC, a small pri vate liberal arts college on "the Hill" of Westminster. MD is not so small anymore. We opened our doors to a freshman class that was not only the largest in the school's history, but the class that will be the first to explore the horizon beyond the hill in the twenty-first century. After several disappointing and trying seasons, we celebrated as OUf football team, the Green Terrors, perservered and triumphed as the Centennial Conference Champs for the first time in history. We watched as our campus moved technologically into the future of the dawning of a new science center to prepare our faculty and students alike for the challenges that await us as we ascend the hill into the world beyond our happy and secluded home. WMC's founders Fayette R. Buell and Reverend J.T. Ward are looking down upon us with pride as their dream of creating a small private university has greatly expanded sinceSeptemberof 1867. Since September of 1867, WMC has made its mark this year reaching beyond the view from atop this hill. Through the patience and persistence of faculty, staff, and students and the generosity of parents, sponsors, and alumni, may the class of 1998 be inspired by the changes transpiring here to grow beyond what they ever imagined possible with the seeds ofknowiedge and plethora of experiences reaching new heights beyond the hill.
