Student oriental's are assigned a group of students to watch over for a weekend of activities and throughout their first semester to help alleviate their fears. The orientation weekend consisted of activities ranging from the scavenger hunt through the businesses of Westminster to pizza parties and the traditional procession of "ringing in the semester" in Red Square. Weeks after the feelings of homesickness began to go away, parents were invited to visit to make sure that their sons and daughters were settled. This is the first time that most students have seen their families since they left for college. Students are excited to show how they have created a little piece of home here.
