A strong second half of the season enabled the Green Terror men's soccer team to post its third straight winning season with a 9-7-1 record. After losing at Messiah 3-2 Sept. 29, WMC was just 2-5 and had been shut out three times. In their last 10 contests, the Green Terrors went 7-2-1 and averaged nearly three goals per outing. The highlight in that stretch was a 3-1 win at Mount St. Mary's, the Green Terrors' second straight triumph over the Division I squad. Atop the scoring Men's Soccer Out for the Goal chart were four seniors sure to be missed come 1993. Ron Chesney (six goals, 11 assists) and Brian Redding (10 goals, three assists) tied for the lead with 23 points each, and were followed by Todd Knellinger with 20 (eight goals, four assists) and Eric Resh with 12 (four goals, four assists). Sophomore Matt St. Jean guarded the net for the vast majority of the season. He was credited with 82 saves and allowed 22 goals. WMC finished 2-3-1 in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC)-South- west Section. Redding was selected to the MAC-Southern Division first team, with Chesney earning second-team honors.
