"Bang" ... Slash ... "Go, push it, you CAN do it!" chants SWIMMING the other members of the team, wild screams of encouragement from the crowd; that sums up the start of most races at a typical dual meet for the Terrors. Antici- pation, determination, nervous- ness, and consistency describes this group. Although the men's record of 0-12 does not reflect their true ability, these past few years, the men's team has had more members and has become stronger. Coach Steve Easterday gave much support and encouragement this sea- son. sisted of six men; two of which were returning lettermen. Three out of the four new members were freshmen. The women's swim team was skilled individually and as a team. Many of them specialized in specific strokes or races. Jen- ny Brussiers was the only woman diver, and she certainly held her own on the team. The team end- ed their season 3-8-1, and con- sisted of all underclassmen. Although their records wer- en't indicative of their skills, they never lost their spirit, closeness and determination. A major problem these two teams en- countered was the closing of the pool for a large part of Decem- ber. The closing was due to a breakdown in the chlorinator and the draining system, but even so, it gave the teams time to work on body strength and stretching. 94
