Anyone who has lived through one or more Jan terms at WMC will tell you that despite the lighter work load, there is never any need to be bored during the month. Once your official work for the day has been completed. you are free to fill your hours with any number of non-credit ac- tivities. Among this January's extra ec- tivities were ski trips, a "campus skate," square dancing, a CPR course, aerobic dancing, and perpetual parties Some WMC students chose to use their free time to become a part of the cast of "Trial by Jury," a Gilbert and Sullivan comic opera about a young man who asks a woman to marry him, and then changes his mind: The scorned bride·to·be promptly hauls her former love to court for breach of promise. After much pleading and debate before a disapproving jury, the young man is allowed to go free when the judge an nounces that he, himself, will marry the young woman. For some, "Tr!a! by Jury" was just an evening of entertain- ment, but for those involved, it was the culmination of a month long project which consisted of both hard work and fun. 28
