SWIM TEAMS BREAK Eleven school records were broke this year by the Western Maryland Col· lege swim teams. The women's team, captained by Jenny Doremus and Missy Sullivan, slashed nine of these records. Sophomore Denise Frech lowered three school times at the National Swimming and Diving Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Winning six All· American honors in the past two years, Frech currently holds eight individual school records. She has also participat· ed on all four of the relay teams which hold school records. Although her spe- cialty is the breaststroke (she even holds a Middle Atlantic Conference reo cord in the 100'yard breaststroke,) Frech also excels in the freestyle and individual medleys. Anne Glaeser, a sophomore back- stroker, trimmed almost a second off her own record in the SO·yarddistance She also held the record in the 100. Long distance swimmer Sue Lapidus was a versatile member of the WMC Row 1: Missy Sullivan (co·captain). Kim Easterday (Coach), Jenny Doremus (co-captain), Row 2: Diane Squad.
