Sometimes a crowd turns into a many headed monster bent on destruc:#ion and violence. But more often than not the common goal is togeth- erness, to mix and mingle, to achieve the feeling that somehow you are a part of this great, wonderful mass. People gather to worship, ob- serve, and raise their voices in joy and song. And in the end, it is realized that there is a great mag- netic chain of humanity. 17
