Upon the landscape man imposes his handiwork but a building tran- scends its essense of wood, brick, and mortar. They are the expres- sions of deeper things. They reflect upon man's love of creativity, pro- tect against forces that are some- times harsh and always fickle. They intuitively serve man's greatest need, the desire to congregate with his fellow beings. Sometimes it is too true that no man is unto himself. 14
