Girls' Sports The girls' sports program began in typical fashion this year as freshman women came in large numbers to fill the ranks of two or three intramural teams. Field hockey was especially good this year. Following the International Hockey Games at Goucher, our hockey enthusiasts here supported first a clinic and then a very successful extramural season. Managed and coached by Sherry Fischer, the team had a 5ยท2 record. Basketball was again the most popular sport, but was highlighted by the coaching of the new physical education instructor, Miss Joan Weyers. Pam Bobbett, basketball manager, led the predominantly junior team to an excellent season. The junior class seemed to dominate the sports scene. First Sandy Roeder won the fall tennis tournament, and then the Junior A intramural teams, in a double repeat performance, won the first place title in both field hockey and basketball.
