Returning upperclassmen critically surveyed the newest batch of green freshmen and then turned their minds to registration. After hear- ing numerous complaints about the number of eight 0'clocks, schedule changes, increased tuition, and price or the text books, the Registrar and staff retired to nightmares and tranquilizers. Enrollment reached an all time high of 691 as the college prepared to embark on a new year. The changing skyline of the "Hill," along with a considerable amount of rearrangement, provided a greater student capacity. Even veterans of the college found themselves ask- ing freshmen the whereabouts of a certain biology department, which had vanished from its accustomed locale. The first day of classes came. Freshmen rushed to breakfast at 7: 15 carrying all their books for the day. Upperclassmen crawled out of bed at 7 :50 and sauntered to class at 8:00 carrying a pencil. The uninitiated were easily recognized by a small green hat topping every outfit, and which, after a few weeks, seemed to be an outgrowth of the head.
