:Jol'ewol'J Western Maryland is a college where they sing "Happy Birth- day," engagement congratulations, and "Happy Letter-Sweater" to you in the dining hall. H is a community that speaks to you-student, alumnus, or visitor. It is a college with useful traditions; the professors know your first name; and the President discusses informally with you the administrative plans for the future. It is a college with a playing field on which the password has long been "sportsmanship"; and it has a chapel in which students pause at the day's beginning. It is a college which highly encourages and respects sincere academic pursuit; and its varied organizations are formed to develop practical capabilities in a mature world. Western Maryland searches out the character of the individual. It is all of these attributes which make it possible for the senior class to publish this ALOHA-a college yearbook with individual senior write-ups and sketches; with .groups familiar to all of us; with scenes and thoughts which we wish to remember. And of which we are deeply proud.
