                                                     Freshmen, the Freshies Were tl{e victors by the score of 9-7.  The game is
                                                     one of the exciting events of the veal' at 'Western Maryland and the rivalry
                                                     between the two classes runs up to a high pitch long before the game itself
                                                     ('OIMSoff.  The game this year was hard i'vug-ht and full of thrills for the
                                                 'Y
                                                 "  spectators.  Each class was out to win and the game was not decided until
                                                 "
                                                \ .  the final whistle blew.
                                                        In the first half, Capt. Kester of the Freshmen made a run from' almost
                                                    midfield fo-r the first touchdow;l  .if the game.  The half ended with the
                         '( I                       Score of 7 to 0 in favor of the Freshmen.  In the second half the Sophs came
                         o t'
                                                    back strong and pushed the ball over i'or :t touchdown and locked the goal

                                                    from touchdown  thus tying)the  score.  The Freshmen  scored  the  two
                 <, , , ,r,  , -.  , "              points which made them victors in the last minute of play WIWllTwigg was
                                                    thrown behind his own goal line by Meyer while running back a kick which
                  IT          " .                   had crossed the goal line.

                         . ,                            For the Freshmen,  Kester, Thomas and Meyer were the stars, while
                                                    Twigg, Ward and Coe starred for the Sophomores.  The line up :_
