P. 33
The horrible drone of his monotonous tone
rumbles throughout the room.
All I can say is that I truly pray
that this class will be over soon!
The eyes start to drop--I wish he would stop
and give my poor ears a break.
I fear that I may not be able to stay
alert, and much less, awake!
Another long word. I forgot what I heard
in this class just a moment ago.
He speaks and he speaks and he speaks and he speaks--
of what, not a word do I know!

Caramel satisfaction--
too little substance,
too much reaction,
ending lines that can't rhyme
with silly commercializations
or trite word-crimes,
misleading punctuation with no
political meaning or
analytical satire
... and sticky caramel
fingers turning pages,
smudging adjectives,
that through a station-break linger.
