and for answering our questions when we had no clue what
the heck we were doing. On a personal level, I’d also like to
offer my gratitude to Kate for all the love and guidance she’s
given me throughout my time at McDaniel. She’s a great
mentor and a cool friend, and I don’t know where I’d be
without her.
Many thanks also to Mr. Josh Ambrose for being such a
terrific sounding board for Jimmy and me when it’s come to
Contrast. Thank you for helping me through InDesign and
Photoshop when I was in a panic, and of course, thank you for
not leaving me behind in a train station in Paris and for
protecting me from French hobos.
Many, many thanks to Jimmy Calderon, my “work
husband,” for being such a fabulous co-editor, classmate,
colleague, and partner in crime and for all the fun and laughs
along the way. I look forward to seeing what your involvement
with Contrast produces in the coming couple of years. I know
it will be fantastic.
Lastly, if I hadn’t already said enough cliché things in this
letter, I’d like to thank you, the readers for picking up this
volume, whether it is your intention to casually page through
it or to devour its contents immediately. Either way, I hope
your experience of Contrast will leave you with something
memorable. I know it has for me.
All my best,
