Life working on the Western Maryland Railway was difficult. Employees Lived in small homes or bunkhouses at various stops along the tracks. Their lives revolved around the running of the trains just as our lives revolve around the college that was named after the Railway. The campus is the central part of our Iives for seven months of the year. It becomes our home, and our friends become our family. Whether you are a freshman, sophomore, junior or senior, you quickly find that collegeisn'tjuststudying,just as the railroad wasn't just a job. Each is a way of life, fraught with tradition. Each instills in us values that we carry in our hearts for the rest of our lives.
