WMC Bids A Fond Farewell To Dr. John In this year, 1984, Western Mary- land College is sad to witness the retirement of Dr. Ralph C. John, President of the college since 1972. As President, Dr. John implement- ed changes in the social life, aca- demic programs and physical con- struction of the college. His career at WMC saw the legalization of drinking on campus, the establish- ment of Phi Beta Kappa, and the addition of Decker College Center, to mention just a few. Dr. John will be remembered for his leadership and accomplishments during a peri- od of vast change in the educational community. Even more so, howev- er, it is his friendly concern and dedi- cation to the improvement of West- ern Maryland College that will be missed by students and faculty alike. It is for these reasons, as well as many others, that this edition of Crossroads is dedicated to Dr. Ralph C. John. Good Luck and We'll Miss You! 28
