The range of activities of the Biology Department extend from promoting practical projects such as building blue- bird houses to doing fundamental research on fish devel- Biology opment. The faculty, cooperating with the active campus chapter of the national honorary biological society, Beta- Beta-Beta, have sponsored student research programs em- phasizing vocational opportunities in biologically related Samuel Alspach (1) professions, and a series of special lectures featuring both Michael Brown (5) off-campus and on-campus speakers.
