The Track and Field team finished the 1978 season with an 8 win, 1 loss record, The team was lead by freshman Tom Knie- riem who captured 16 first places, senior co-captain Chuck Barbour with 6 and sophomore Fred Smyth The relay team ex- hibited an outstanding season with only one loss in nine at- tempts, Their best time in the 440 this season was 44.8 seconds, Co- captains Don Harris and Brian Trumpower helped the Terrors to pull off such a fine season. Coach Carpenter to say the least, very pleased his team's per- formance and is sure that next year's team with all their perience will fare just as well 154
