Once again the Ter- rors were undefeated as Mason·Dixon dual meet cham- pions, although they finished second in the Mason-Dixon Conference Championship. The Mat Monsters also won the team trophy for the annual quadrangular meet held at WMC. The Western Maryland grapplers placed fourth in the Maryland State inter-Collegiate Tournament, and can boast a season tally of 378 points to their opponents' 130 points. After an initial upset at the hands of Morgan State, the wrestlers stormed through dual meet competition to compile twelve consecutive victories, a new school record. Other school records were set by: Gary Scholl for 10 pins and a total of 55 team points, Terry Conover for 26 con- secutive dual meet wins, and senior Rick Schmertzler for a career total of 66 wins. In the Conference Rick Schmertzler and Gary Scholl repeated as champions in the 160 and 130 lb. classes reo spectively. Senior Jim King, and underclassmen Terry Conover, Art Blake, Leon Cronce, and Ken Myers all placed. . 91
