The College Choir The College Choir began rehearsals during Fresh- mall Orientation Week in September, 1966. Many freshman were added to the choir, and this was their first contact with many upperclassmen and Dr. de- Long. They quickly learne-d to come in a half beat lnte, or else they f ound themselves singing an un- assigned solo. There was the usual work load. Two anthems for each chapel service and a Christmas pro- gram had to be familiarized. The first program was the Christmas Carol Program. Several instruments were used to obtain the Added interest in the pieces. After semester break, the choir began to really con- centrate on the Mass by Charles Gounod. The mass featured a trio and solos performed by Pat Meyers, Sonny Euker, and Harry Loates. At the same time performances for the mass were taking place, the choir had to prepare a secular Spring Concert. The Choir rounded out a full year in June by sing- ing at Commencement.
