The 1964-65 wrestling season was one that many WMC fans would like to forget but for Coach Dave Blizzard and the boys who put their hearts into each and every match it will long be remembered. The Green-Terror matmen were so hard hit by injuries and academic difficulties that Coach Blizzard made an urgent plea to the student body to keep the team functioning. Two veteran grapplers, Bob Basye and Mason- Dixon Champ Ron Garvin were lost to the team for the entire season so that only a few experienced boys remained. By the middle of the season five freshmen were starting, several of these had little or no previous experience. The freshmen were Tom Fowler (130), Bob Hibbard (137), AI Starr (147), Dana Huseman (157), and Bob Moore (177).
