Phi Alpha Mu Phi Alpha Mu, we are dreaming . . . Purple cows, purple moo juice, purple cow-bells, purple Hell Week ... Back into childhood with Peter Pan, Mother Goose, wooden soldiers out of step, Snow White and Cinderella, even Eloise . . . "Castle painted purple, castle painted white" (Does anyone know what casipated means?") . . . Diversified with some campus leaders, always the loud-mouths, a few best-dressed, the outrageous, naughty, nice, serious, smiling, crying, brains, brawn, beauty ... Misty-eyed elegants at our first fall formal ... Beer and pretzels mingled with Red and Blue brothers whose loyalty overwhelms us ... "NE-E-E-T!" ... Working on floats, selling sandwiches ("Are you sure you wouldn't like a ham and cheese sandwich ?"), posing for the com- posite, putting out the Torch, trips to Springfield, fines for not cleaning the clubroom ... Enthusiasm and new pledges, the hard-core juniors, nostalgia and seniors ... Helen's heart of gold ... "Going for six dollars, do I hear six-fifty? Six-fifty, do I hear seven dollars? Seven dollars. Going once, going twice, sold-One Phi Alph for seven dollars!" ... "Does anyone have a purple G. Allen J. Allgire sweater? I'm going up to fourth floor" ... Diamond rings and chocolates for the meeting ... A sorority sister is someone who's bound to you by an intangible tie, as strong as a smile after an argument, which there often is, and as meaningful as the tears at parting, which there often are.
