_I 1.Ellitur'!I 111nrenmrh FTER a silent sleep of six years the ALOHA (lnce again awakens and presents itself as the handiwork of the class of Nineteen Hundred and Sixteen. In compiling this book we have endeavored 10 meet as high a standard as the annual of any other college of the Stale and vi- at" the same time, present 10 the public a book which would uphold in every particular the dignity, the honor. and the reputation of Western Maryland College. Our chief purpose, however, has been 10 publish in a bound volume the complete record of "the brightest four years of life," that we may in time tum to these pages and dream again the dreams of the past. Our work is finished; the mission of this book has now commenced. We make no apologies, for we have done our best in view of the limited time, the limited financial resources, and the limited experience at our disposal. Whether the book pleases or disappoints you, we commend it to your hands with the reservation, that. were it the fulfillment of our dreams instead of the product of our hands, your comment would be uttered in vain. This is lhe place. Stand still, my steed. Let rue review the sccnc, And summon from the shadowy Past The forms that once huve been. -LoIIgjel/mv.
