THE HOLLOW KNOCK
Is it true
That when the hollow knock
Sounds from your door
You willfully bare your soul for Him?
And is it true
That when the light dims
You reach out,
Knowing what you're doing.
And pull the plug?
When the cold water surrounds you
Do you will yourself to sink,
Hoping that there's solace
In the deep?
Do you know that I'm here
To silence the rapping.
To brighten the light,
To dam the flood?
Don's succumb
To the world's imperfections.
They'll keep you in a stone-cold grip.
Away from those who will warm you.
Away from me ..
