Most of this collection was either given to the Archives by the author or transferred to the Archives by the department that sponsored the work. Some works in this collection are copies of original works from other collections that are in McDaniel College Archives. - Grace Miller wrote this short history of "Old Main" to protest the razing of the building in the 1950s. Miller was the daughter of Joshua Hering, a charter member of the Board of Trustees of Western Maryland College and board president 1897-1913.
