Abstract

The Fernanda Doria collection consists of vocal scores used by Doria for her performances and for her classes at Western Maryland College,  publicity photographs of opera singers and musicians of the early twentieth century, Doria’s own publicity photographs,  thank you letters for her performances, opera programs, and a few pieces of her correspondence, score manuscripts, and writings.

Scrapbooks in the collection were put together by Maude Gesner, professor of music at Western Maryland College, after Fernanda Doria's death.

Scores and other music were donated to Western Maryland College by Fernanda Doria.  Many of these scores were removed from the collection.  All scores that had notations and marks highlighting musical passages or verse were kept. A list of music removed will be attached to this record.
