Library Instruction Sessions

Librarians at Hoover Library offer Information Literacy instruction for all undergraduate and graduate classes on research methods and use of library resources. We can support Information Literacy in a variety of ways based on the needs of your individual classes, including:

working with you to design a basic session that introduces students to library research

developing a more in-depth class that is dedicated to a specific assignment or research project

collaborating on research assignments and assuring adequate and appropriate materials are available for assignments

classroom visits for brief presentations

Please contact us as early as possible to allow enough time to plan and develop an outstanding session for your students. Our new Information Literacy Lab in the Library is a great place to have your students learn about research, consider bringing them over for a class session. Free printing is available to your students during our Information Literacy lab classes.

For more information or to schedule instruction, contact Jane Sharpe at x2278 jsharpe@mcdaniel.edu, Sally Jones at x2287 sajones@mcdaniel.edu, Rhonda Stricklett at x2283 rstricklett@mcdaniel.edu, Mary Wilson at x2284 mwilson@mcdaniel.edu, or Jessame Ferguson at x2741 jferguson@mcdaniel.edu.

We look forward to working with you to design an experience that meets the needs of your students related to your course objectives that teaches students important skills about conducting research and using information ethically at a college level.
