United States Code (U.S.C.)
Codification of federal statutes that have been enacted by Congress and signed by the President or passed over the President's veto. These are the general and permanent laws of the U.S. They are divided into 50 titles according to subject matter. New editions are published every 6 years and cumulative supplements are published annually after the conclusion of each regular session of the Congress. Read more about the U.S. Code.

Code of Federal Regulations (CFR)
Cumulates in bound volumes the general and permanent rules and regulations of Federal agencies published in the Federal Register, including Presidential documents. Organized into 50 titles according to subject matter. Each volume of the Code is revised at least once each calendar year and issued on a quarterly basis. Read more about the CFR.

Maryland Regulations

  • Division of State Documents (DSD), Office of the Secretary of State for the State of Maryland
    • Contains the Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR), which are the Maryland State agency regulations;
    • and the Maryland Register, which contain regulations proposed but not yet adopted. Any proposed change to the text of State regulations must first be published in the Register. The Maryland Register is published every 2 weeks.
