Digitized copies of the commencement programs and commence week schedules of Western Maryland College from 1868-1900.  Programs and schedules changed in size and print style during this period.  Also programs or/and schedules were missing for some years.  If the programs and or schedule could be found in the papers of William Roberts McDaniel these were used for scanning.  However these programs are pasted into books and where often  askew when scanned.

The condition of the materials and  the variation in size and styles of type used each year, the Optical Character Recognition program (OCR) did not recognize as high a percentage of the material scanned. When Adobe Reader does not produce the name you are researching it does not mean the name does not exist in the documents. You should go over the documents to verify.
