Reference Department

The Reference Department at Hoover Library is staffed by five librarians, one reference assistant, and two graduate students. Reference desk coverage varies, but most weeks during the fall and spring semesters reference staff is available to assist users from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm Monday through Thursday, from 8:00 am through 5:00 pm Fridays, and from 5:00 pm through 10:00 pm on Sundays.

Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary Loan Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service for students, faculty, and staff to obtain materials not owned by Hoover Library.

Library Instruction
Hoover Library offers instruction to support all FYS classes, and advanced or discipline specific research for freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduate students.

Government Documents
Hoover Library is one of three Federal Depository Libraries for the 6th Congressional District of Maryland. As a selective depository, we receive more than 16% of documents distributed by the Government Printing Office. The documents are freely available for use by anyone, and can be checked out of the library.
